Before you go anywhere

Sign the back of the ticket. Photograph both sides. Validate at any WCLC retailer terminal or in the official Lotto Spot app.

Up to $1,000 — at any WCLC retailer

Across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, WCLC retailers pay validated prizes up to $1,000 in cash. Larger prizes are referred to the provincial gaming authority that handles claims locally.

$1,000 to $24,999 — provincial gaming authority

Each Prairie province uses its own gaming authority for mid-range claims:

  • Alberta: Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) — claim centres in Edmonton and St. Albert.
  • Saskatchewan: SaskGaming — head office in Regina.
  • Manitoba: Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries — head office in Winnipeg.

$25,000 and above — in person at the provincial office

Major prizes are claimed in person, by appointment, at the relevant provincial gaming authority. Verification takes 1–3 hours and includes:

  • Two pieces of government-issued photo ID.
  • The signed, original ticket.
  • Identity verification interview.
  • Consent for WCLC / provincial public announcement.
  • Optional financial-planning briefing.

Public announcement

WCLC publishes winners' names, communities, and photographs for major prizes through the relevant provincial gaming authority. Anonymity exemptions are granted for documented safety concerns.

Deadline: 52 weeks

WCLC draw-game prizes — Lotto Max, 6/49, Daily Grand, Western 649, Western Max, Extra, Pick games, Daily Keno — must be claimed within one year of the draw date. Instant ticket deadlines are printed on the ticket.

Provincial gaming authority addresses

Alberta (AGLC): 50 Corriveau Avenue, St. Albert, AB T8N 3T5 — 1-800-561-4748. Saskatchewan (SaskGaming): 1880 Saskatchewan Drive, Regina, SK S4P 0B2 — 1-800-205-7355. Manitoba (Liquor & Lotteries): 830 Empress Street, Winnipeg, MB R3G 3H3 — 1-800-665-3313.

Frequently asked questions

Why does WCLC use provincial gaming authorities instead of its own claim centres?
WCLC operates the games, but each Prairie province has its own gaming regulator that handles in-person claim verification, public announcements, and prize disbursement. WCLC funds the prize; the provincial authority pays it out.
Can I claim an Alberta-bought ticket in Manitoba?
No. Each provincial gaming authority handles only tickets sold within its province. An Alberta-purchased ticket must be claimed through AGLC, even if you live in Manitoba.
How long do I have to claim a WCLC prize?
52 weeks (one year) from the draw date for draw games. Instant ticket deadlines are printed on the ticket.
Where can I claim a major prize in Alberta?
AGLC's St. Albert head office (50 Corriveau Avenue) for prizes of $25,000 and above. Smaller prizes can be handled at the Edmonton claim centre.
Are Yukon, NWT, and Nunavut covered by WCLC?
Yes. Lottery games in the three territories are operated by WCLC. Major prize claims are handled in coordination with the relevant provincial gaming authority — usually Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries — depending on where the ticket was purchased.
