Before you go anywhere

Sign the back of the ticket immediately. Photograph both sides. Validate the result on the BCLC Lotto! app or at any retailer terminal before publicising the win.

Up to $2,000 — at any BCLC retailer

BC retailers can pay validated prizes up to $2,000 in cash. Bring the signed ticket to any retailer with a BCLC lottery terminal. If the retailer is short on cash, they may pay the difference by cheque or refer you to a Prize Payout Office.

$2,000 to $9,999.99 — mail or Prize Payout Office

Prizes from $2,000 to under $10,000 can be claimed by mailing the signed ticket and completed Prize Claim Declaration form to BCLC, or in person at the Vancouver or Kamloops office. Required: signed original ticket, claim form, and government-issued photo ID. Cheques typically arrive 2–4 weeks after BCLC receives the package.

$10,000 and above — in person at a Prize Payout Office

Major prizes are claimed in person, by appointment, at one of two BCLC Prize Payout Offices: Vancouver (downtown) or Kamloops (BCLC headquarters). Verification takes 1–3 hours.

  • Two pieces of government-issued photo ID.
  • The signed, original ticket.
  • An identity-verification interview.
  • Consent for BCLC's public announcement (jackpot wins).
  • Optional financial planning briefing.

Public announcement

BCLC publishes winners' names, communities, and photographs for prizes of $10,000 and above. Signed consent is part of the standard claim. Anonymity exemptions exist for documented safety concerns and are reviewed case-by-case.

Deadline: 52 weeks

BCLC draw-game prizes — Lotto Max, 6/49, Daily Grand, BC/49, Extra, Daily Keno, Pacific Hold'em Poker — expire 52 weeks after the draw date. Instant-win ticket deadlines are printed on the ticket.

BCLC Prize Payout Office addresses

Vancouver: 200 Burrard Street, 2nd Floor (downtown). Kamloops: 74 West Seymour Street (BCLC head office). Both offices: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (PT). Phone: 1-866-815-0222.
