Before you go anywhere

Sign the back of the ticket. Photograph both sides. Validate at any ALC retailer terminal or via the ALC app.

Up to $1,000 — at any ALC retailer

ALC retailers across the four Atlantic provinces pay validated prizes up to $1,000 in cash. The retailer scans the ticket; the system confirms the win and authorises payment.

$1,000 to $9,999 — mail or regional office

Mid-range prizes can be claimed by mail with the signed ticket, completed claim form, and a copy of government-issued photo ID, or in person at any of ALC's three regional offices in Moncton, Halifax, and St. John's.

$10,000 and above — in person at a regional office

Major wins are claimed in person, by appointment, at the regional office covering the province where the ticket was purchased. Verification takes 1–3 hours and includes:

  • Two pieces of government-issued photo ID.
  • The signed, original ticket.
  • Identity verification interview.
  • Consent for ALC's standard public announcement.
  • Optional financial-planning briefing.

Public announcement

ALC publishes winners' names, communities, and photographs for major prizes (typically $10,000 and above). Anonymity exemptions are granted for documented safety concerns.

Deadline: 52 weeks

ALC draw-game prizes — Lotto Max, 6/49, Daily Grand, Atlantic 49, TAG, Bucko, Salsa Bingo — must be claimed within one year of the draw date. Instant ticket expiry dates are printed on the ticket.

ALC regional office addresses

Moncton (head office): 922 Main Street, Moncton, NB E1C 1G6. Halifax: 6435 Dixon Street. St. John's: 215 Water Street. All three are appointment-only for major prize claims. Phone: 1-800-561-3942.

Frequently asked questions

Can I claim an ALC prize in any Atlantic province if I bought the ticket in another?

How long do I have to claim an ALC prize?
52 weeks (one year) from the draw date for draw games. Instant ticket deadlines are printed on the ticket.
Where are the ALC offices?
Moncton (head office, 922 Main Street), Halifax (6435 Dixon Street), and St. John's (215 Water Street).
Does ALC announce winners publicly?
Yes, for major prizes (typically $10,000+). Anonymity exemptions are granted for documented safety concerns.
Can a non-Atlantic-Canadian claim an ALC prize?
Yes, provided the ticket was purchased in one of the four Atlantic provinces. Out-of-region winners follow the same in-person process at a regional office.
